Why Co-location

Why Co-location? Save Money!

  1. Save on connectivity cost. To get even one T-1 can easily cost $1000 per month. To get redundant connections (two T-1's), you would have to pay twice as much. And you will also need BGP routing to make sure you are broadcasting your alternative IP location through both connections.
  2. Save on redundant power cost. Battery backup systems can easily cost $1,500 to $2,500 to provide the backup services you need to guard against power loss. Even the simplest generator will cost $2,000 more to protect you in the event of a power loss in excess of 30-60 minutes.
  3. Save on security tools such as firewalls and other intrusion defenses.
  4. Save on Tech Staff costs to setup and maintain these systems. Not only do you save on the cost of staff with the expertise to manage the network connectivity issues, but you free up the staff you have to concentrate on the services you are doing through your server.
